Dr. James Orr's short biography:

Dr. James Orr is a senior research scientist at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement (LSCE, France). He is an oceanogapher whose research focuses primarily on the ocean carbon cycle and ocean acidification. He uses regional and global numerical models to assess changes and variability during the industrial era and to project future changes. In addition, he leads an engineering group that is developing the technical infrastructure for the next-generation earth system model at IPSL.  Currently he serves as the Scientific Coordinator of the Ocean Acidification International Coordination Center, Chair of the SOLAS-IMBER Ocean Acidification Working Group, and Co-chair of the Ocean Model Intercomparison Project. James Orr hosts one of the C-CASCADES ESRs, who is studying the effect of riverine delivery of carbon and nutrients on Arctic Ocean Biogeochemistry.

Lecture's abstract - 'Regional Arctic Ocean':

The lecture will cover the changing carbon cycle in the Arctic, particularly the land-ocean continuum. Some focus will be placed on the underlying physical changes.
