Together, they provide a diverse range of complementary skills that are essential to address the proposed project. This includes the development of novel sensor technologies, the use of advanced experimental techniques in the laboratory and in the field, the application of statistical methods and GIS techniques to large datasets, and modeling at the catchment, regional and global scales.
The distribution of the individual projects according to this broad range of skills clearly highlights the multi-disciplinarity of our consortium and the complementarity in expertise among partners. The project also necessitates the coverage of the full suite of interconnected environments of the Land-Ocean Aquatic Continuum (LOAC) and their interfaces. This includes terrestrial vegetation and soils, inland water systems (streams, rivers, lakes and reservoirs), the coastal ocean (estuaries and continental shelves) and the open ocean.
